This page contains short write-ups of a few Artifact 3D prototyping projects. The majority of my day to day 3d prototyping and custom modeling work is contracted through Etsy or Ebay and can be seen in the gallery tab.

Client: Sidekik ™- Date Completed: July 2018 – Description: Functional Electronic Prototype
Sidekik is a soccer training tool made to improve coordination and timing of kicks. They came to Artifact 3D in order to have an electronic, wireless Bluetooth connected version of their product made that would track kicks and send data to a phone app. This project involved custom made 3D printed parts, electronics design/wiring, and programming a simple app to respond to a sensor when the Sidekik is kicked.

Camskns: 2022 – Created and batch-produced display legs for vinyl coated boards. This is the largest-scale production I’ve done at 100 pieces. The design adjusted to minimize waste and maximize parts-per-kilogram of high quality material.

Second State Coffee 2023: Created replacement portafilter handles for an MVP Hydra Espresso Machine.
The existing replacements are very expensive to order, so I designed functional handles using easily available hardware after taking measurements. This was needed on short notice, and I was able to go from starting the design design to working prototype in less than 24 hours. After several weeks of heavy use and testing, the design has now reached a point where they should last as long or longer than the stock parts for a fraction of the price. The pictured designs were decorated to add an unusual style to the machine after the design was finalized. Final design is impact resistant and uses all-stainless hardware.
They have been in use for over a year now and have gone through several design and internal hardware changes. I’m now focusing on making universal handles with elements that will make cleaning and replacement much more convenient.
